Wedding Couples Information



Please make sure you both read the below information and if you have other people setting up in the barn they must also read it.


Access For a Saturday wedding you can have access to the barn on a Thursday & Friday from 9 am to 9 pm and everything needs to be cleared away by Sunday midday. Whilst for a Tuesday wedding access is available on the Monday at 9 am to 9pm and everything must be cleared away by Wednesday midday. 

Accommodation We have in total five bed and breakfast rooms. Three in the farmhouse which all can be double, twin, family (2 adults and 2 children), triple or single rooms and two at The Lodge, just next door which can be double or single occupancy only.

If you would like rooms for any additional nights the prices for these nights will be single £70, double / twin £90 family or triple £120. To book additional nights please send a message to linda@furthomanorfarm.co.uk.

Rooms are available from 2 pm on your arrival day, if you would like to hold a room or rooms so you can have early access we charge £60 per room.

Only guests who are staying at the Bed & Breakfast are allowed in the house during the wedding. Obviously if the bride is getting ready in the farmhouse the bridal party are allowed in the house on the morning of the wedding. You must not give the code to the house to anyone not staying here.

All guests who stay in the bed & breakfast rooms have breakfast at The Farmhouse this is served at between 7 - 9 am each morning and 9 am on morning after a wedding unless requested earlier. 

All bed and breakfast rooms need to be vacated by 11 am on the day of leaving.

Alcohol We are a licensed premise and all alcohol must be bought through the bar on site. No guests may bring in drink, any found will be confiscated. The only acceptation if for small or intimate weddings.

Barn The barn is in total 105 ft long by 30 ft wide, which is approximately 32 m by 10 m. The entrance lobby is approximately 15 ft long by 10 ft and the catering space 15 ft by 20 ft. So, the main event space is 90 ft by 30 ft, which is approximately 26.5 m by 10 m. In total
there are six bays which are 15 ft each, some of the top bay is taken up by the bar.

The apex of the barn is 4.9 metres high and the eaves are 3.6 metres at the top of the barn. At the bottom of the barn, near the toilets, the Apex is 4.3 m and the eaves are 3 m.

If you are dressing the barn please do not use staples, nails, screws or pins, everything is to be tied up. This includes no signs to be attached to the sliding doors externally.


There are eight electricity sockets in the barn and six externally, all of these are 13 amp twin sockets. When setting up the barn do not put anything in front of the heaters.



Candles No candles are allowed in the barn there are plenty of battery / LED alternatives.

Camping We allow camping in the parking paddock or glamping by the lake from May to September.  Camping/ Glamping is included in the price for a summer Saturday wedding.  For any other nights there is a charge of £10 per person. Tents, caravans and campervans are allowed. These are all brought on to the farm at the owner's risk. Camping is just in a field with no electric hook up. There are toilets for the campers at the nearby buildings and one shower. Campers can not come in to the house for showers.  People can camp on the day of a wedding as well as the day before. 

No camp fires are allowed. Campers need to have left the field by 12 noon on the day of leaving.

Ceremony If you are having a ceremony on site at Furtho the registrars request two tables. One of the registrars will stand behind a table to marry you and this needs two chairs on the side of the registrar. Then the other table needs one chair for the other registrar.

Church To use the Church for a service this has to be booked with the Church Conservation Trust, the link is on our suppliers list.

We charge £50 if you would like candles in the Church to be lit. This must be stated on the wedding plan. Also if you move any pews or chairs in the Church these must be returned to the layout before you set up.

There are 10 pews which sit 4 people, 2 longer pews that seat 6 and 45 chairs in the Church.

Confetti Only natural flower petals are allowed.

Drone Use of drones is allowed. We ask they are not flown above any of our farm buildings.

Drugs Furtho Manor Farm has a zero tolerance to drug use, guests will be asked to leave and if required police will be called.

Fire Pits These are allowed if placed on the concrete area outside the barn and are the raised fire pits. This is to prevent burnt grass patches.

Fireworks and Chinese Lanterns are not allowed as we are a working farm.

Gazebo The gazebo is 4m square. On the gazebo there are tables and chairs for the registrars and the couple. We have a portable PA which can be used to play music with two wireless microphones and has Bluetooth for use with your phone, if you are getting married on the gazebo. Not everyone chooses to use this but if you would like it we hire it out at £25. Please add this onto your wedding plan.

Grass seats We now have 12 benches which seat up to 8 people and there are 37 pallet seats. So in total we can seat up to 170 guests using these for a ceremony.



  



Kitchen Space The kitchen area just has a double sink and separate hand basin. There is a fridge and freezer in here are for bar use and one fridge for your use. This fridge is 796 lt, internal dimensions width 890 mm depth 670 mm height 1533 mm. Caterers need to bring all their own equipment. There are 8 13amp plug sockets in the kitchen available.  The space is roughly 15 ft by 20 ft.

Lights The lights in the barn are on two dimmer switches the top three and bottom three on a switch each. Outside the barn, car parks and pathways all have courtesy lighting.

Rubbish All rubbish needs to be placed in the bins in the office car park. Bins are clearly marked as to what should be placed in them. We are in West Northants and all recycling can be placed in the same bin, no plastic bags at all should be put in this bin.

Smoking The barn and areas immediately next to it are NO SMOKING. A smoking area is available behind the dovecote.

Sparklers  are only allowed on the concrete area outside the barn and can only be used before 7 pm. If you are using sparklers we have to be told who will be supervising there use, so we can let them know our rules about them. Sadly we have had damage caused by them before.

Toilets There are ladies and men's toilets as well as a disabled toilet which is marked as an additional ladies toilet. Within the disabled toilet there is a baby changing station.

Parking Cars are directed by signs for parking. During the summer months this will be in the field unless we have had heavy rain in the period before your wedding. In the winter cars will be parked in the office car park and in front of the farm buildings. Guests are welcome to leave cars over night but we ask all cars are collected by midday the following day.

Pets No pets are to be brought on to the farm unless by prior agreement.

Picnic Benches Outside the wedding barn there are four picnic benches. These are not to be moved to another area.

Water There are taps and a sink in the catering space.

Wedding Plan - We ask that this is filled out at least six weeks before your wedding with details of all suppliers you are using. A copy will be emailed to you to be filled in three months before your wedding.  If you would like to hire any items from us this is when you need to let us know, on the wedding plan.

Bond deposit If any of the above information is not followed or there is malicious damage to property money will be taken out of your deposit.
