A beautiful vintage dresser sits within the barn, adding character and charm to the space. Its timeless design complements the rustic setting perfectly and provides an elegant surface for styling flowers, candles, or personal touches, enhancing the overall atmosphere of the venue.
Often it just sits as a piece of furniture to the right of the bar but some couple choose to use it. Rather than simply serving as a piece of furniture, it offers an opportunity to add warmth, personality, and cohesion to the overall design of the day.
Here at Furtho Weddings we love seeing how couples choose to use our dresser. So we thought we would share some photos on here.
This first series of pictures show different ways our couples have decorated the dresser for their wedding. Here it has been decorated with lots of glasses.
A number of couples have used it for pictures, often as below showing photos of the couple in their life together leading up to their special day.
The dresser can also be used to show items for the wedding guests use. Here the dresser is full of flip flops, ready for those tired feet.
The dresser can also be used to tell a more personal story. Framed photographs, heirloom pieces, or a small memory display create a meaningful moment within the venue, inviting guests to pause and reflect. When styled this way, the dresser becomes not just decorative, but emotional, adding depth and individuality to the wedding day.
It also makes a good spot for couples to collect their cards and gifts. Here are a couple of examples showing a small post box on the dresser.
Joe & Lisa back in 2022 used the dresser as a book case, asking guests to take a book as a wedding favour. They had stamped into each book 'Joe & Lisa' and their wedding date. They then asked people to pass their books on once they had read them. When I was trying to find these photos today and asked Robin about the book he had and he said he had left his in Greece. So I hope it carried on travelling!
The dresser has often been used for cups and saucers next to a tea and coffee station.
For this particular wedding, the dresser was used for horse, dog and cat treats for the wedding guests to take home to their pets.
Here the dresser is decorated with flowers and, with the addition of some comfy sofas which were hired in, created a cosy space to relax in.
