Outside lakeview wedding ceremony

Here at Furtho Manor Farm you can choose from a number of outside wedding locations all with a view of the lake. There is a route to walk all the way round the lakeside.

On the Gazebo

Back in 2018 we built the gazebo on a small island on the lake and starting doing outside weddings. At that time all weddings had to be in a permant building so this was built especially for outside weddings.

The gazebo is on a small island in the lake, which couples access over the bridge. Whilst wedding guests sit on our grass benches on the lakeside.

After Covid the rules about weddings were changed allowing couples to get married outside at venues which were registered. So we have now licenced the whole of the field outside our barn, and couples have chosen a number of different spots. Below are the selection of places which couples have chosen so far.

In Front of the Gazebo

Some couples want to be closer to their guests but still like the view of the gazebo on the lake island and they then choose this spot, with the view to the gazebo and the lake.

For a wedding ceremony with West Northants Registrars you will require a small table in the centre where the couple will stand, with the registrars the other side. Then to the left of this you will need two of our small wooden tables and two chairs, this is where the couple will sit to sign the register.

These three tables and chairs can be found on the gazebo if you are setting up at a different location.

On the hill

Some couples have chosen on the hill with the view down to the lake.

In front of the Lake

This spot is further along the lakeside, which can not be seen from the barn. There is a gap between the trees to give you a view to Furtho lake.

This couple had a very warm day and were looking for some shade. So they had their ceremony below the trees next to the Church. On a hot day I highly recommend finding some shade for your guests. We have previously had guests who have suffered from the heat during the ceremony.

Church View

Some couples use the path to the Church as their aisle and then have the Church as the backdrop for their wedding.

Top of the Field

I am not sure how to explan where this wedding took place. If you are by the barn door this spot is straight in front of you. It is the top corner of the field and has the view of the Church and down to the lake.

Dovecote

This spot is only suitable for a smaller wedding with up to fifty guests. On the barn side of the Dovecote. You could use the otherside of the Dovecote for more guests.

Marquee

This marquee was put up just below the barn.

Sorry I have not got a great photo but we had one couple put up a marquee in case it rained. Instead they had a really hot day and the marquee protected them from the sun !

Outside the Barn

Sometimes if the weather is slighly unsure what it is going to do couples have chosen just inside the barn. And if it does rain before the ceremony the chairs can quickly be moved inside and the couple get married just inside with the view out over to the Church.
