Natural-wedding-photos

Are you wanting natural wedding photos? Here are some fun wedding ideas to help couples use their photoshoot time to create some natural wedding photos.

Back in 2023, we held a wedding photoshoot and party (with some of the wonderful suppliers that we know and use) that went from afternoon to evening.  The theme of the photoshoot was how to make a fun and relaxed wedding reception.

Often couples are told to take some time out of their wedding day to be with each other - actually what this photoshoot shows is that you can use this time for your wedding photos, and include the items you have hired to entertain your guests.

The day started for Rachel, like many Furtho brides, getting ready in the Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast.  She had Hannah Rafferty Makeup and Nicola from Bespoke Bridal Hair get her ready.

Brides often have photos with their bridesmaids either in front of The Farmhouse, or on the lawn, once they are all ready before a wedding ceremony.

Now, if you are a couple who don't like photos, doing something during your photo session works really well, and you get some lovely relaxed shots. Photographer Dave Hadley came up with the idea of having a picnic.  Often couples tell me how they did not eat much on their wedding day so I think this is a great idea.  If you are having canapes, you could get your caterers to make you up a plate just for you - as during the drinks reception everyone will want to chat you, and after all those choices of what canapes to have, you might not get to taste them!

Then to go with your canapes, how about a glass of fizz? A champagne spray is a lovely way to get some fun, couple shots - as who knows if that cork will fly out.

And then to chill ... enjoy your day and catch your breath before going back to your wedding party and remember to share the details of your wedding together.

You could also use this time give each other a little gift.  Here the bride is writing in a book supplied by Ali's Paper

Again, get some photos with your outside wedding games or photobooth if you have them.  It means you can have some fun playing them and it will encourage your guests to follow you and get playing.  These games were supplied by a someone who regularly comes to Furtho, Kym from Purple Lily Event Hire

Then it was time to relax from the photoshoot and all have tea.  With food supplied by Moo Hatch - they make fabulous burgers.

Then for the evening we had lots of local suppliers come to join the party.  With a Ceilidh band led by Lisa Heywood  - this is always a great way to get people on to the dancefloor.

If you can keep your photographer into the evening, as it is always lovely to get some pictures of everyone dancing. The wedding photographers love to take some relaxed shots when people have forgotten about posing for pictures.

One of the things I love about working in the wedding business is the fabulous group of suppliers I have met over the years.  They are all there to help each other (well, the ones I recommend are!) and make a great team.  The group who pulled this photoshoot and day together certainly created a great team and I would happily recommend them all.
