Where to have your wedding ceremony at Furtho Manor Farm
Northamptonshire Wedding Ceremonies
Here at Furtho Manor Farm we are on the Northamptonshire / Buckinghamshire Border. If you are wanting a legal ceremony this has to be booked with West Northamptonshire Registrars.
Once you have chosen to have your wedding reception at Furtho Manor Farm your next choice is where to have your ceremony.
* Ceremony in the barn
* Ceremony in Furtho East, this can hold up to 60
guests
* Ceremony down on the Gazebo
* Outside wedding
anywhere in the field outside the barn.
* Church Blessing in St Bartholomews, Furtho
* Wedding off-site in a Church or Registry office
* Celebrant ceremony in any of the above locations
except the Church
The Barn
As the barn at Furtho is let as a blank canvas you
can set up the ceremony wherever you would like including just outside the
doors of the barn.
Since buiding our new bar back in 2020 (yes this was our Covid project !) setting up the ceremony in front of the bar is becoming a new favourite.
Then some couples use our dividers put up in the middle of the barn as the backdrop. The registars request two tables for the ceremony one in the middle, for the registrar to stand one side and the couple the other. Then to one side you need another table for the second registrar to sit at and then for the couple to sit at to sign the register.
McGee's also hire a drape to divide the barn in two, which can be taken down after the ceremony of be left up until later.
Or this couple create their own dividers and had their ceremony at the bottom of the wedding barn.
The Ceremony Room - Furtho East
Furtho East is in the Courtyard by the
farmhouse. It is available for ceremony only weddings in the week and is
included on a Saturday when booking the wedding barn. The room can hold a
maximum of sixty guests.
If you do not use this space for your ceremony but
the registrars are marrying you on site, this space will be used for your
interviews.
Furtho East has a mural on one wall which is normally used as the backdrop to weddings in this room.
Gazebo
In 2018 the Gazebo down by the lake was built for
weddings, on a small island.
For intimate weddings everyone can go on to the gazebo.
While for larger wedding guests sit on the grass area the other side of the lake. We have enough grass benches to sit 150 guests.
The Field - Church View, Lake
View, Dovecote View or Barn View
Since 2022 we have been able to offer legal weddings anywhere in the field by the barn.
The Field - Lake View
In 2020 Nataly
J Photography took some wonderful photos during a photoshoot
for a wedding down by the lake. At the time this set up could only have
been used for celebrant wedding but it is now an option for a licenced
wedding. To see more of this photoshoot go to my blog BoHo Photoshoot
Some couples have chosen to go up the hill from this spot, which has been a great idea on a hot day so that the wedding guests can stay in the shade of the trees by The Church.
I think this wedding is so far the only one to go along side the lake and it looked stunning.
Whilst these brides got married at the end of the lake. They had a celebrant to do their ceremony with all of their guests, and an hour before got legally married with the registrars. I loved the way Felicity casually walked down the hill with her Mum, Dad and brother.
The Field - Gazebo View
Some couples love the Gazebo but want to be slightly closer to their guests so they choose the shot in front of the Gazebo on the grass.
And then some couples choose to get married a bit further up the hill - nearer to the wedding barn.
The below ceremony was a celbrant led ceremony. It was one of those annoying mornings with the odd shower - so the couple decided to just go ahead outside. For a legal wedding it is the registrars who make the final decision on if a wedding can go ahead outside.
The Field - Dovecote View
The Dovecote over the years has often been chosen
as a back drop for couples photos, and now it can also be the backdrop
for the actual wedding. Here it is set up for a photoshoot taken by Fran.
St Bartholomews Church, Furtho
Just a stroll down the path from the wedding barn
is St Bartholomews Church which is now looked after The Church Conservation
trust. As the Church is a redundant Church no legal weddings are
available but a number of blessing are allowed each year. Some couples
choose to have a small ceremony in one of the above locations or at a registry
office either on their wedding day or a few days before and use the Church for
their main ceremony.
