Christmas at Furtho

Image
Christmas is a special period of the year wherever you go and that is no different at Furtho. Despite the difficulties which winter presents on the farm, the comfort of the Christmas feeling and the special opportunities which the festive period allows certainly make it worth it. Whilst we haven't had a white Christmas at Furtho in several years, the frosty ground in the mornings, bare trees and crisp weather creates a beautiful wintery picture throughout the farm.  Every year at Furtho we host various festive events. These include the Carol Service in St Bartholomew's Church attended by people from the local villages, raising money from the Churches Conservation Trust, a charity which takes care of over 350 historical churches in Britain, including St Bartholomew's. Alongside this, each year, we pick another chosen charity to raise donations for.  Thistlerose florals hired Furtho East for a couple of years to run wreath making workshops. Below are some examples of the wrea...

Dog Friendly Wedding Venue

Would you like to bring your dog to your wedding ?  We have had a number of dogs at weddings over the years and a horse!  Being animal lovers ourselves we do know that some couples would like to have their dogs come to the wedding. There’s something about weddings that brings out the best kind of magic — love, laughter, and moments you’ll remember forever. And if you’re one of the many couples whose love story includes a four-legged best friend, you’re probably wondering: Can my dog be part of the big day too? Short answer: Yes. Long answer? Absolutely, yes — with a little planning and a lot of treats. 1. Decide Your Dog’s Role in the Wedding Your dog can play several adorable parts, depending on their personality and comfort level: Ring Bearer : Leash up with a satin bow or floral collar and let them strut their stuff down the aisle (just maybe don’t give them the real rings). Dog of Honor / Best Dog : Standing proudly beside you at the altar, your pup will giv...

Outside lakeview wedding ceremony

Image
Here at Furtho Manor Farm you can choose from a number of outside wedding locations all with a view of the lake.  There is a route to walk all the way round the lakeside. On the Gazebo   Back in 2018 we built the gazebo on a small island on the lake and starting doing outside weddings.  At that time all weddings had to be in a permant building so this was built especially for outside weddings. The gazebo is on a small island in the lake, which couples access over the bridge.  Whilst wedding guests sit on our grass benches on the lakeside. After Covid the rules about weddings were changed allowing couples to get married outside at venues which were registered.  So we have now licenced the whole of the field outside our barn, and couples have chosen a number of different spots.  Below are the selection of places which couples have chosen so far. In Front of the Gazebo   Some couples want to be closer to their guests but still like the view of the gazebo ...
